The division is responsible for teaching duties related to the study of medicine (required module, internship, clinic practical year, scientific journal club, supervision of diploma theses and dissertations) and postgraduate university education (postgraduate MSc. degree program in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy), and it is also involved in extrauniversity teaching (FH Joanneum Radiography degree program, KAGes special training course in pediatric intensive care) and in extramural training (ECG course for pediatricians). In addition to knowledge transfer, other key concerns are introducing students to sensitive and respectful interaction with our young patients and their parents and providing comprehensive age-appropriate care.
Based on ongoing trials and the latest scientific developments, students are taught state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapy in the area of pediatric cardiology. This approach allows our students to actively participate in clinical research while they work on their diploma theses and dissertations.
The wide range of professional development opportunities at the Medical University of Graz is directed at a variety of occupational groups in the fields of medicine, science and research, nursing and health services. Most of the professional development courses can be completed while the participant is regularly employed and provide him/her with a valuable additional qualification.
